Peter Pan Beijing

Peter Pan Beijing is an immersive theater adaptation of the classic story, currently running in Beijing, China. As part of the creative team on the project, Manual Cinema created an original musical score, multi-channel sound design, live shadow puppetry, and animation/video design. It is the company’s first work of immersive theater.

The show was housed in a 50,000 square-foot venue and includes a to-scale pirate ship and a mermaid grotto night club. Each unique environment required an immersive score and soundscape, and utilized multiple shadow-puppet and projection techniques. A fleet of screens imbedded throughout the set featured animation and video created by the company.
